COOPERATION WITH KOSOVO IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATIONMinister of National Education Mahmut Özer met with Kosovan Ministers of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Arberie Nagavci and Regional Development Fikrim Damka.
A Turkish textbook prepared for Kosovo students studying Turkish, professional improvement and in-service training programs for teachers assigned for the education of Turkish students in Kosovo, cooperation in the field of vocational and formal education and elective Turkish courses in Kosovo and elective Albanian courses in Turkey were the topics of the meeting.
Expressing his happiness to host the Kosovo delegation, Minister Özer stressed the increasing importance of cooperation between countries in solving education problems that have surfaced during the pandemic. Özer stated that Turkey gained remarkable experience in the digitalization of education and production capacity of vocational education institutes during this process and Turkey is ready to cooperate with Kosovo in this field.
"All students can easily use the EBA platform which was opened for international use in 2019. It is also open to the use of teachers from abroad", said Özer and noted that Turkey is ready to give all kinds of support for the education of the Turkish community living in Kosovo.
Stressing that existing Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) structures in Kosovo must be neutralized in order to take more concrete and firm steps in the ongoing education relations between two countries, Özer went on to say, "We know that this organization which does not hesitate to abuse sacred and valuable fields like education in order to achieve their foul goals in places where it exists, will not refrain from harming Kosovo in any suitable moment."
Kosovan Ministers Nagavci and Damka thanked Minister Özer and expressed their full confidence that cooperation between two countries will be reinforced.
Deputy Minister Petek Aşkar, Director General for European Union and Foreign Affairs Burcu Eyisoy Dalkıran, Director General for Vocational and Technical Education Kemal Varın Numanoğlu, Director General for Life-long Learning Sabahattin Dülger and Director General for Support Services Kemal Karahan were present at the meeting.
